Free Your Voice ~ Four week class

A four week singing class.
This class will focus on learning the fundamentals of good singing technique, breath, posture, pitch, and scales whilst also discovering new voices and gaining confidence with improvisation. There will be the opportunity to sing in pairs and small groups as well as learning songs and improvising as a whole group.

I'm encouraging you to bring holiday songs that you love from any tradition, songs about the cold and the winter solstice or songs that make you want to curl up by a fire. I will probably be inviting folks to sing a couple of carols with me, I just can't help myself. To get us into the spirit I'll be making mulled wine this time. Remember you can bring a guest for support, accompaniment or to sing a song of their own. A cover of $5 each goes towards room hire and drinks, please bring a dish to share. "Don't sweat it...sing it!" Please RSVP.

Singing Salons are informal gatherings, where anyone who has ever been a student of Julia's is welcome to come along and sing a song in front of a supportive audience.

Voice Movement and Performance class

This intensive course aims to work playfully and courageously with the voice, to identify and work through any stumbling blocks in our vocal expression. By working creatively with our voices, emotions & bodies we can gain awareness of old habits and experiment with new possibilities, colors and characters. Using a combination of vocal and physical exercises, art making and costumes, we will be working as a small but committed team on vocal liberation! Suitable for all levels. Please note, limited places are available and full attendance is expected.
Cost: $280 to be paid in advance.

Sing Your Selves

Using different vocal configurations and postures to distinguish between characters, we will play with our different traits and see if they become fully formed characters. As well as being of interest to those on a path of self-discovery, this workshop would also be particularly useful for actors wishing to develop their character voices.
